And right now, we are looking for a Front-End Software Developer to join the Product team within [Employer hidden] Media. You will be championing front-end platform development by exhibiting strong programming acumen, communication, technical knowledge and process.

We are changing the way we engage with customers, with new cutting-edge digital platforms such as our ‘[Employer hidden] Exceptional Website’. As a Front-End Software Developer, you will be responsible for the continued delivery and development of this world-class website. Reporting to the Lead Platform Engineer and working alongside other colleagues across [Employer hidden], you will be providing technical research, design and delivery of testable and scalable platform technology.

You will have technical accountability and you will also support with the coordination of new engineers and designers. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing quality assured releases of software to our customers and addressing any urgent fixes required for the platform. You will also provide detailed documentation to improve process, increase knowledge, and reduce risk and/or dependencies within the team.

Role Responsibility

  • Communicating effectively offering advice and support to team members to maximise team performance and growth.
  • Prioritising workflow and coordinating with colleagues effectively to deliver software releases in a timely manner.
  • Contributing to workshops and meetings to define problems and scope out technical solutions.
  • Designing and building web solutions to serve identified platform opportunities.
  • Supporting and consulting with the UX team, to ensure audience empathy remains at the foundation of all development.
  • Contributing to sprint planning and daily stand-ups, and adopting the necessary workflow processes, tools and work culture.
  • Working closely with designers, engineers and product managers to build measurably effective user-focussed product solutions.
  • Researching the latest technologies and attending necessary seminars or conventions to acquire and share the latest technical knowledge and practice.
  • Supporting the growth of the product by capturing ad-hoc issues, improvements and feedback from colleagues
  • Production of detailed documentation to maximise team knowledge, process and efficiency.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Demonstrable experience as a Front-End engineer versed in modern web technology such as JavaScript, NodeJS, React/Redux etc.
  • Experience in using system monitoring tools and automated testing frameworks.
  • Extensive experience in software development, and scripting.
  • Detailed practical knowledge of online publishing platform including knowledge of advertising industry, services and technologies.
  • Knowledge of PHP and related tools such as Composer.
  • Familiar with MacOS and Unix operating systems.
  • Excellent Communication skills.
  • Problem-solver with excellent organisational skills.
