What will I be doing

The New Part Introduction (NPI) Engineer will be instrumental in the transition of new and modified products from design through to production. This role encompasses the industrialization of design changes, new product introduction, configuration control, stakeholder liaison, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Industrialization of Design Changes: Evaluate and implement design changes, develop manufacturing processes, work instructions, and quality assurance protocols.
  • New Product Introduction: Lead transition from design to production, develop project plans, oversee prototype builds and production ramp-up.
  • Configuration Control: Establish and manage configuration control processes, maintain documentation.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Collaborate with commercial, purchasing, and operations teams.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyse manufacturing processes for cost reduction and quality improvement.

What do you need from me?

  • Minimum of 5 years in product engineering, preferably aerospace or regulated sector.
  • Experience with configuration management and documentation systems.
  • Project management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of APQP and PPAP processes advantageous.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and aerospace quality standards.
