Manufacturing Apprentices - L3 & L5

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking Manufacturing Apprentices to join their team. The role is based in Dungannon and involves working in a manufacturing environment, learning technical skills, and supporting production.

Job Summary

DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a team member with day-to-day operations.
  • Assist with specific tasks and projects relevant to the assigned department and progress to taking responsibility for a delegated workload.
  • Learn and apply industry-specific tools, techniques or software to improve manufacturing and business processes.
  • Maintain work equipment and ensure a safe, well organised workstation.
  • Work in accordance with relevant risk assessments and safe systems of work (SSOW) and standard operating procedures (SOP’s) as per Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental training and instruction.
  • Complete assignments and projects by agreed target timescales.
  • Follow instructions provided by Supervisor/Manager.
  • Participate in company or department improvement projects, to gain efficiencies, reach targets, meet legislative requirements and improve the work environment.
  • Comply with companies’ policies & procedures.
  • Any other duties, within reason and capability, as agreed with the Supervisor or Production Manager.

Manufacturing Apprenticeship:

  • Correctly undertake the work process to manufacture component parts for production, to the required quality standard in accordance with work instruction provided.
  • Read, understand and correctly implement technical drawings.
  • Handle, transport and store component parts as per training and instruction.
  • Complete daily safety checks to ensure machine and work equipment is in good working order and submit all necessary check sheets as required.
  • Undertake visual and dimensional quality checks on designated products, both at in-process production and despatch stages to ensure compliance with the customer’s technical drawings.
  • Report any defects, safety concerns and make suggestions for work improvements.
  • Assist the IMS team with internal audits and undertaking the improvement actions.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards within production areas.

Person Specification

Qualifications/Attainments

Essential: Secondary education to required level for the apprenticeship. Acceptance on the relevant Apprenticeship Course.

Desirable: Manufacturing experience within the mobile screening and crushing industry.

Relevant Experience / Knowledge

Essential: Good literacy, numeracy & digital skills.

Skills and Competencies

Essential: Strong interest in the Engineering Industry, self-motivated and high energy, ability to work within a team and in an environment that is constantly changing, excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, willingness to learn and take initiative, reliable and punctual.
