Senior Machine Learning Engineer

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our Triage Intelligence team in London (Shoreditch). This is a full-time, hybrid role with a compensation range of £100K – £115K plus equity.

The Team

We are a mission-driven team of 80 engineers based in London and surrounding areas. We foster a low-ego, high-impact environment. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you'll join our Triage Intelligence team – a high-impact, cross-functional group of software engineers, Data Scientists, clinicians, and a Principal Product Manager.

Challenges You’ll Solve

  • Take ownership of end-to-end technical design of ML systems – from data ingestion to real-time monitoring.
  • Act as primary technical partner to Data Scientists, evolving experimental code into high-quality library modules.
  • Translate clinical and product objectives into efficient computational tasks, selecting the right tools (Deep Learning, NLP, etc.).
  • Turn one-off experiments into repeatable platform capabilities.

You Should Apply If…

  • Extensive experience with ML techniques (Transformer-based NLP, Deep Learning, Tree-based methods, Bayesian modelling).
  • Proven track record of taking models from notebook to production.
  • Mastery of a production-grade language (Python, C#, or Go).
  • Experience defining offline and online metrics.
  • Collaborative rigour in design and code reviews.
