Research Assistant - GCAS Internship

Location: On-site at SAMS, Oban
Contract Type: Fixed Term, 6 months
Working Pattern: 35hrs per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £23,700.60 per annum
Closing Date: 5pm on the 2nd of March 2023
The Role
You will develop your scientific research skills in carrying out research, analysis and write up your findings in the form of data and reports. This is also an opportunity to increase your network, as you will be interacting regularly with scientists at SAMS, external project partners, gathering information, organising and attending workshops and participating in meetings. There may also be opportunities at meetings for you to showcase your own findings as well as participate in other science project activities. This should assist you in developing both your research and collaborations and help you decide on where you want to take your career next.
Our Ideal Candidate
You will have a Postgraduate Degree (ideally a PhD or an MRes/MSc with work experience) in a relevant discipline – biotechnology, social or sustainability science or environmental science, and you will have experience in data collection and analysis. You will also be able to utilise specialist knowledge and experience in own area to interpret and meet requirements of the project.
