Role Overview
Help children to connect with nature, as part of an established and experienced group, based in Inverness. As a Wildlife Watch Leader, you will plan and run monthly outdoor sessions for children aged 8-12. No expert knowledge required – just enthusiasm for wildlife and working with young people.
Main Tasks
- Planning and preparing a programme of quality monthly outdoor sessions
- Promoting the group and maintaining health and safety and safeguarding standards
- Liaising with families, collecting and storing data securely (e.g. parental consent forms)
- Undertaking risk assessments
About the Wyvis (Inverness) Wildlife Watch Group
The group runs on Saturdays about once a month, usually 10am to midday. Venues change monthly and are within 30 minutes travel of Inverness. The group is for children aged 8–12 (parents/guardians not required to stay).
Skills You'll Need
- Interest in wildlife (learn as you go)
- Creativity
- Good organisational skills
- Enjoys the outdoors
- Enthusiastic about helping children discover wildlife
- Able to be an excellent representative of [Employer hidden]
- Useful: experience with children, first aid qualified, conservation experience
