Finance Analyst

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is hiring a Finance Analyst to support financial planning and analysis in London. This permanent role offers hybrid working and a competitive salary.

Role Responsibility

The Finance Analyst will support the Finance Manager and wider team in providing effective financial challenge and support to business partners. Key responsibilities include:

  • Produce timely, detailed and clear analysis to support business area performance
  • Provide clear and concise commentary on performance with recommendations for improvement
  • Contribute to month-end management accounts including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Identify risks and opportunities against budget and discuss mitigation
  • Undertake analysis for potential initiatives using financial modelling techniques
  • Report on KPIs, highlighting risks and opportunities
  • Support budgeting and forecasting process
  • Interpret non-financial information into financial reports
  • Produce reports easily understood by non-financial people
  • Make recommendations to improve reporting and analysis
  • Deal with queries and requests professionally and timely
  • Participate in ad hoc projects
  • Work collaboratively, sharing ideas and information
  • Seek ways to improve own performance technically and behaviourally
  • Represent the finance community in line with [Employer hidden] values

The Ideal Candidate

  • Retail/FMCG experience
  • Commercially aware
  • Working towards recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA)
  • High standard of accuracy with financial and statistical data
  • Proactive and able to take initiative
  • Able to manage own workload
  • Customer focused with ability to build cross-functional relationships
  • Good communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and computer literate in other core applications
  • Flexible and open to change
