Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is hiring a Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer. This is a remote eligible role based in the UK. You will lead complex AI deployments, architect multi-agent solutions, and design client-specific MCP resource packs. You will mentor junior engineers and drive the intelligence loop.

What You Will Do

  • Lead complex, multi-system AI deployments end-to-end.
  • Own the AI workshop program for your pod.
  • Architect multi-agent solutions.
  • Design client-specific and industry-specific MCP resource packs.
  • Own Deployment Kit quality for your pod.
  • Lead Solutions Enablement Sprints.
  • Drive the intelligence loop.
  • Mentor junior FDEs.

Required Qualifications

  • 6–10+ years production software engineering, including 3+ years deploying AI/ML.
  • Deep Python; strong TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Proven track record leading complex enterprise technical engagements.
  • Deep production LLM experience: multi-agent orchestration, MCP/tool-use, RAG optimisation.
  • System architecture expertise spanning enterprise systems, cloud infrastructure, and AI services.
  • Demonstrated ability to create reusable technical assets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to travel 25–50%.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent.

Nice to Have

  • Experience founding or scaling an FDE/solutions engineering function.
  • Technical founder background. Databricks, AWS Bedrock, or Temporal experience.
  • Deep domain knowledge in healthcare, financial services, or government.
  • Proficiency in German/French.
  • Familiarity with AI governance, ethics, and regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR, UK/EU AI Act).
