Workday HR Migration- Technical Data Business Analyst

Location: London

Salary: £450 - £600/day

Job Description

The Technical Data Business Analyst, who will work within the Data Migration team, will report to the Data Migration/ Integrations Manager for the Workday project. They will be responsible for working closely with the business and the Technical Data Analyst to assist in the sourcing, cleansing and reconciliation of data as well as playing a lead role in cut-over activities and be able to create strong, collaborative relationships with multiple teams within the organisation, the Workday functional team, integration team and testing team as well as a strong ownership and seeing items through to resolution.

The role will provide analysis and advice to internal and external clients on the current and future state of the data as well as a smooth transition approach from the legacy systems data to day 1 data in Workday. The Technical Data Business Analyst will liaise with the business to confirm and maintain the required data sets. This will involve direct involvement in elements of the data ETL process for loading into Workday (SaaS).

Responsibilities Will Include

  • Analyse and document data mappings from source systems to the data product solution and onward data outputs for the client implementation. ? Analyse and document any derivation, workflow and enrichment required within the data solution for the client implementation, working closely with the Technical data analyst on rules.
  • Support internal and client testing and reconciliation activities prior to “go live” date and immediate post-production transition, enabling reconciliations to be carried out in a thorough and efficient manner.
  • Contribute input on specific Workday requirements, this will include documenting data transitions/ mappings. Working with SME’ and functional team to identify data requirements for each of the modules in Workday.
  • Acquire and analyse data from primary and secondary data sources
  • Plan, provide and coordinate the capture of the data and subsequent processing during the cutover period and the subsequent load to Workday.
  • Work with the Technical Data Analyst to Identify, analyse, and set up DQRs (Data Quality Reviews) as well as carry out investigations on the data following queries from the business.

Additional requirements

  • 3 years or more of professional data analysis experience in Human Resources, including Workday
  • Demonstrable experience of previous HR data conversion and migration project activities
  • Strong Excel, VBA skills and understanding of data infrastructure and security requirements
  • Adept at proactive queries, report writing and presenting findings in a non technical way.
  • Excellent people skills, together with good clear writing and oral skills, as this is business facing role
  • Basic usage and understanding of SQL, tables and dimensions.
  • Comfortable evaluating quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends and relationships
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with hands on experience in HR data and Workday
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and determined problem solver with attention to detail
  • Exhibits the ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and be flexible

Additional Note

Importance will be placed on attention to detail, good forward planning and being able to react quickly to varying requirements and deliver in short bursts calmly when under time pressures.
