Job Description

We are seeking a talented and commercially astute Associate Architect to join a design-led international studio. This is a senior leadership role for an architect with a strong balance of design quality, technical delivery, and client-facing confidence.

You will play a key role in leading significant hospitality and masterplanning projects across the Middle East and/or UK delivery experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams across all RIBA stages – you must be an all rounder across all RIBA stages
  • Oversee large-scale hospitality and mixed-use developments, ensuring quality, programme, and commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Contribute to securing and delivering projects with major international hotel operators.
  • Lead and contribute to Middle East masterplanning schemes, shaping high-profile urban and resort developments.
  • Take responsibility for detailed design packages, including complex UAE projects previously under Dubai Holding.
  • Act as a key client contact, representing the practice with confidence and professionalism.
  • Mentor and support junior architects and project teams.
  • Contribute to studio-wide initiatives supporting growth, quality, and international expansion.

Skills & Experience

  • ARB registered architect (or equivalent international qualification).
  • Typically 8–12+ years’ post-qualification experience, with leadership responsibility on complex projects.
  • Strong Middle East experience, ideally including large-scale masterplanning.
  • Excellent technical knowledge and understanding of UK regulations and international coordination.
  • A design ethos grounded in clarity, quality, and buildability — aligned more with the robust approach of Grimshaw/RSHP than highly sculptural studios.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and team leadership skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on project involvement.
