Senior Architect/Associate

Our client is seeking a Senior Architect or Associate Architect with deep rail and transport expertise to help lead the architectural delivery on a major train station development. This is a high-profile role for a confident, proactive architect ready to shape the design of complex infrastructure within a leading global design team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide architectural leadership throughout the full project lifecycle — from concept through delivery — on a major station infrastructure project.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with engineers, planners, landscape designers, and technical specialists.
  • Manage projects through all RIBA work stages, from concept design through to technical delivery and construction
  • Mentor and lead project teams, ensuring design intent, technical quality, and delivery performance.
  • Manage project objectives, risk, resources, and programme constraints with commercial awareness.

Skills and Experience

  • ARB-registered Architect with minimum of 5+ years post-qualification experience.
  • Proven ability to deliver architectural solutions within complex, multidisciplinary environments
  • Strong design and graphic communication skills, with the ability to develop and present architectural narratives
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D tools such as Rhino, Enscape, or SketchUp
  • Confident managing technical design, construction packages, and coordination with consultants
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK infrastructure standards, planning processes, and delivery frameworks.

Benefits

  • Hands-on involvement across major, impactful infrastructure projects — known for high-profile station and transport design work in the UK.
  • Flexible working arrangements with a studio-based London office complemented by hybrid/home working options.
  • Opportunity to work alongside multidisciplinary experts and directors deeply involved in project design.
  • Exposure to complex public-sector processes and long-term programmes that build professional depth and leadership experience.
  • Work on high-profile projects that deliver meaningful social, civic, and environmental outcomes
  • Generous holiday entitlement, enhanced pension scheme, and cycle-to-work initiative
  • Structured CPD programme with opportunities to progress into leadership roles
  • Friendly, inclusive team with regular design reviews, studio events, and cross-disciplinary collaboration
