Job Description
We are looking for a Head of Sustainability to serve as the primary authority on net-zero carbon strategies, resource efficiency, and regulatory compliance. In this dual-focus role, you will act as a high-level consultant on major global projects while simultaneously mentoring internal teams. Your goal is to move sustainability from a "specialist service" to a core DNA trait, embedding a culture of environmental stewardship across an entire international organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- As a strategic leader you will develop and execute a robust ESG framework that aligns with global standards and client expectations.
- You will act as the expert consultant on client projects, providing technical guidance on materials and construction, life-cycle assessments, circular economy principles, and carbon reduction.
- You will be the face of the sustainability mission, liaising directly with clients as a trusted advisor, representing the business at major industry events, and partnering with the marketing team and leadership to lead high-stakes bids and elevate our global brand narrative.
- You will create tools and workflows that make climate action a practical, measurable part of the design process.
- You will lead the "green" cultural shift by mentoring staff and fostering an environment where sustainable design is the default, not the exception.
- You will stay ahead of evolving global legislation to ensure the firm and its clients remain compliant and market-leading.
Skills and Experience
You are a seasoned professional with a proven track record in sustainable design and a deep understanding of the built environment's impact on the planet. You don’t just understand the theory—you know how to deliver it.
- Qualified Architect or Environmental Engineer
- Extensive experience in net-zero carbon strategies and resource efficiency.
- A natural mentor who can translate complex technical data into actionable design insights.
- Commercially aware, with the ability to influence stakeholders at the highest level.
- Passionate about driving systemic change within a fast-paced, global design context.
Culture & Benefits
- Hybrid working
- Central London location
- Friendly, social culture
- Competitive salary dependent on experience.
- Excellent opportunities for learning, growth, and progression within a global design network.
