Job Description

An international architecture practice, is seeking a high-caliber Financial Controller to lead their finance team.

This is a senior-level position responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the London headquarters and its overseas subsidiaries. You will lead a dedicated team of three, providing strategic insight to the COO and the Board while ensuring the firm’s financial infrastructure supports its continued global expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial operations, including billing, AP/AR, payroll coordination, and month-end close
  • Prepare consolidated monthly management accounts, KPIs, and financial forecasts for Board presentation
  • Manage global cash flow, banking relationships, and foreign exchange risk management
  • Coordinate international tax strategies, oversee UK VAT returns, and act as the primary lead for external audits
  • Identify opportunities to enhance internal controls and automate manual processes using AI and modern fintech tools

Skills & Experience

  • You must be qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (or international equivalent)
  • 5+ years of senior-level experience, ideally within Creative, Professional Services, or Architectural sectors
  • Technically strong with expertise in project-based revenue recognition (WIP), budgeting, and advanced Excel
  • Comfortable with leading and doing, in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and build trust with creative staff
