Job Description

Are you a communicative and technical expert seeking a pivotal role within a design-focused, forward-thinking, and people-friendly studio? We’d love to hear from you.

This excellent opportunity is a key technical appointment within their London office. You will act as the practice-wide focal point for specification writing and cladding expertise, reporting directly to the Technical Director. You will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of technical excellence, coordinating in-house training, and bridging the gap between high-level design and robust construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the creation and maintenance of bespoke practice clauses and guidance notes within the NBS Chorus platform.
  • Writing and reviewing specifications across a diverse range of sectors to ensure a consistently high standard is maintained practice-wide.
  • Managing the interface between the NBS Chorus platform and BIM modelling software.
  • Providing technical support and mentorship to staff across all grades and disciplines.
  • Preparing and presenting in-house training seminars on specification best practices and software operation.
  • Integrating with technical directives, including Design Delivery Group (DDG) initiatives and internal presentations.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as an Architectural Technician or Specification Writer within the UK architectural sector.
  • Expert knowledge of NBS Chorus software is essential.
  • Strong technical ability with a solid background in creating construction details and NBS documents.
  • Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations and industry standards.
  • A natural collaborator with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to various teams.
  • Confident in presentation environments, capable of leading internal CPDs and training sessions.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to driving quality and consistency across multiple projects.
