Job Description
Reuters is seeking a highly adaptable and experienced Executive Assistant to support the Editor-in-Chief (EIC) and, from time to time, the wider Editorial Leadership Team. This is a senior, trusted role within a fast‑paced, global newsroom. The scope of the position is fluid and will evolve in line with business needs.
Who you are
- Proven experience working in a fast‑paced, diverse and constantly evolving environment
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience as an Executive Assistant, supporting senior executives at the highest level
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm, resilient and effective under pressure
- Highly adaptable, composed and unflappable
- Maintain composure in high demand situations
- Confident and professional communicator
- Able to manage shifting priorities and last‑minute changes with ease
Desirable
- Experience supporting senior leaders within an international multimedia news organisation, or working closely with journalists across text, TV and pictures
- Experience using Copilot AI or similar tools to enhance productivity, including drafting communications, refining documents, summarising information and streamlining administrative processes
What the job involves
- Manage a complex, fast‑moving global diary, including scheduling meetings and speaking engagements with senior internal and external stakeholders
- Apply exceptional attention to detail when overseeing all aspects of the Editor‑in‑Chief’s schedule
- Coordinate and deliver complex international business travel, including flights, accommodation, ground transport and visa arrangements, responding calmly and efficiently to last‑minute changes
- Prioritise and balance competing demands, ensuring effective engagement with key internal and external counterparts
- Act with the highest level of discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information
- Anticipate potential issues and proactively prepare practical solutions
- Act as a proxy for the Editor‑in‑Chief across internal approval systems, including Workday, CORA (invoicing), Ariba, Fieldglass and Expenses
- Support special projects and undertake ad hoc duties as required
- Work closely with other Executive Assistants across the newsroom, providing cover and support when needed
