About the role
The role encompasses the full data science stack, from project scoping to deployment and performance monitoring
The Data Science team drives the use of data, machine learning & AI to enhance internal decision-making and creates hyper-personalised customer experiences
Team members tackle diverse business challenges and explore various modelling paradigms. This dynamic environment provides ample opportunities for on-the-job development
The role focuses on optimising marketing spend, content, personalisation, and AI, positioning the right candidate as a key driver of our ambitious goals
Sourcing and processing data using domain-specific/agnostic techniques
Analysing data to support ad-hoc business decisions
Running proof-of-concepts to test feasibility and value
Building and deploying production-ready machine learning models
Monitoring model performance for long-term accuracy
Being at the forefront of integrating LLMs across the business, driving innovation and efficiency
Managing stakeholders to balance ambitious goals with achievable outcomes
Developing, presenting, and discussing insights with the wider business
Collaborating with other data scientists, analysts, and engineers
Who you are
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in data science roles
- Creative problem-solving and solution scoping
- Strong grasp of mathematical, statistical concepts, and machine learning algorithms
- Proficiency in Python and data science libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Keras)
- SQL proficiency
- Experience with cloud environments (e.g., Google Cloud Platform)
- Version control management
- Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality
- Effective communication and data storytelling skills
- Collaborative mindset and passion for sharing knowledge
Desirable
- Experience in e-commerce, retail, or related sectors
- Experience in marketing science
- Experience with our BI platform Looker
- Anything to demonstrate your past work (e.g. a GitHub profile)
