About the Role

[Employer hidden] is looking for a Business Development Executive to join their team. This role focuses on building pipeline, conducting discovery, pitching the company's ESG data platform, and managing CRM records. You will be instrumental in helping an exciting start-up grow and take a leading role in its expansion.

Who you are

  • A track record of consistently exceeding sales targets, ideally within a similar industry or to senior stakeholders in financial services firms.
  • A 1st or 2:1 Undergraduate Degree or equivalent from a reputable university.
  • A strong work ethic, showing up every day ready to put in the activity and energy required to build a significant pipeline.
  • Desire to take a leading role in helping an exciting start-up grow, rather than being a small cog in a large machine.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly with customers.
  • Persuasive with emotional intelligence to grasp what potential customers will resonate with most to build maximum urgency in the sales cycle.
  • Highly organised and able to use a CRM (e.g. Hubspot) and other Outbound tools to prioritise, manage and build a pipeline of customers.
  • Well-mannered self-confidence, credible and calm when speaking to time-poor high-achievers.
  • A very strong sense of personal accountability and ownership, with the ability to grasp new ideas and details quickly.
  • A team player who is naturally friendly, has a good sense of humour, and ‘mucks in’ wherever needed.

Desirable

  • A solid understanding of sales methodologies, including MEDDIC and SPIN selling, to align our value proposition with customer needs.

What the job involves

  • Building pipeline: Use our outbound tech stack (Cognism, WithIntelligence) to research customers, and seek creative and personalised methods to generate a pipeline of potential leads through a multi-channel outbound approach, spanning across cold calling, LinkedIn, CRM and SMS/WhatsApp.
  • Discovery: Conduct in-depth discovery to understand the prospects’ needs, current pain points, and decision making criteria to ensure they have a strong need/desire for [Employer hidden] to revolutionise their current ESG reporting and analysis.
  • Pitching: Use the nuances of individual customer needs to persuasively demonstrate exactly how [Employer hidden] can boost their current ESG data, reporting and analysis within their investment process. Work closely with the Head of Sales to ensure these prospects have the best chances of closing successfully.
  • Market intelligence: Learn and stay up to date with capital markets and industry trends to build strong trust and credibility with prospective customers.
  • CRM Management: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all outreach activities in Hubspot, to effectively prioritise and progress an exciting portfolio of potential customers through the sales pipeline.
  • Networking: Represent [Employer hidden] at industry events, and build an online thought leadership presence, in order to forge meaningful contacts and convey the value of [Employer hidden]’s data in their investment processes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other teams in the business, from Research to Marketing, to support strategy, ideas and content to build our brand, based on what you’re seeing first-hand from prospective customers.
  • Product Feedback: Liaise with the Research, Tech and Machine-Learning teams regarding product improvements and suggestions, sharing insights and feedback gained from your client facing role.
