Who you are
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or similar data analysis tools for analytics and visualization
- Experience using BI and reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI to create dashboards and reports
- An understanding of analytical techniques such as segmentation and anomaly detection
- Some familiarity with data pipelines and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS or Google BigQuery) is a plus
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with fraud, finance, product, and engineering teams
- Experience managing data projects with timely delivery
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as GDPR
- Experience in identifying and mitigating revenue leakage through fraud analytics
- A strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
- The ability to present complex data insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Attention to detail when analysing large datasets
What the job involves
The Fraud and Payments Data team exists to protect [Employer hidden] and our customers by preventing and detecting fraud across our platforms. We support Ticket Operating Companies (TOCs) with Revenue Protection activities, reducing fare evasion and fraud across the rail network. Working closely with Revenue Protection Specialists, we turn complex data into clear insights and ensure our revenue protection approach is evidence-led, scalable, and continuously improving
- Own and track key rail fraud metrics, supporting [Employer hidden]’s revenue protection goals
- Partner with Train Operating Companies (TOCs) and internal stakeholder to support revenue protection initiatives
- Deliver timely and accurate internal and external reporting on rail fraud trends for senior leadership and industry partners
- Automate dashboards and reporting tools to streamline analysis
- Identify trends, anomalies, and emerging rail fraud patterns, working closely with the Train Operating Companies and [Employer hidden] Product teams to mitigate risk
- Ensure compliance with data security and privacy standard
