About the Role

Be an early applicant

Who you are

  • Deeply AI-fluent. This is non-negotiable. You actively use Claude, Cursor, Codex, Playwright MCP, AI test generation tools, and whatever else launched last week. You don't just "use ChatGPT sometimes". You have opinions on which models are best for which tasks, you build your own workflows, and you instinctively reach for AI as the first tool, not the last
  • Excited by, and ideally already prototyping, fully agent-driven QA: AI generating, executing, and self-healing test suites with minimal human orchestration
  • Obsessive attention to detail. You notice the misaligned pixel, the off-by-one date, the silent error nobody else clocked
  • Deep love for great products. You have strong opinions on what "quality" feels like and can articulate why one product delights and another frustrates
  • Genuine curiosity about technology. You stay close to how things are built, not just how they behave
  • 5-10 years of QA / Quality Engineering experience, ideally in B2B SaaS, Health-Tech, or fast-growing VC-backed startups
  • Hands-on with modern test automation frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or similar) and comfortable owning the full testing strategy end-to-end
  • Strong understanding of API testing, regression testing, performance testing, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Ambitious and ready to step up. Excited by the trajectory of being our first quality leader at a Series A company and shaping the function from the ground up
  • Comfortable with the pace and ambiguity of an early-stage environment. You move fast, prioritise ruthlessly, and don't wait for perfect specs
  • Outstanding aptitude with a strong academic record

Desirable

  • Bonus: Software engineering background (you can read and contribute to product code, not just test it)
  • Bonus: Veterinary, animal health, or human health-tech domain experience

What the job involves

  • Build [Employer hidden]'s path to a fully automated, agent-driven QA function. We believe QA should be 90%+ automated by AI agents, not humans clicking through scripts. You'll own that vision and ship it
  • Evaluate, integrate, and operationalise the latest AI testing tools (Playwright MCP, agentic browser frameworks, AI-assisted test generation, visual regression with vision models, etc.)
  • Treat the QA toolchain itself as a product. Constantly upgrading as the AI tooling landscape evolves (which is roughly weekly)
  • Own and define [Employer hidden]'s overall quality strategy across web, mobile, and integrations
  • Build and scale our test automation framework from the ground up
  • Embed quality practices into every squad, partnering with Engineering, Product, and Design from discovery through to release
  • Lead testing across new feature launches, regression cycles, and regulated workstreams (UK GDPR, German prescription compliance, integrations with Idexx, Heiland, imaging systems)
  • Establish QA processes, documentation standards, and bug triage workflows that scale with the team
  • Run cross-browser, cross-device, and performance testing for both UK and DACH markets
  • Hire, mentor, and grow the QA function as [Employer hidden] scales
  • Champion the customer's experience internally. Be the loudest voice in the room when something isn't good enough
  • Partner with Customer Success and Implementation to surface real-world quality issues from vet practices
  • Report directly into the leadership team and shape the long-term quality roadmap
