Job Description

Due to increasing activities and expanding work programme in our Fenwick office, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic professional with a passion for Forestry. We are looking for someone who will complement our dynamic team and be able to contribute using their relevant skills and experience. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of forest and woodland management, woodland creation, estate management, liaison directly with a range of clients & stakeholders, preparation and management of budgets, delivering forest plans as well as supporting others within both the management and harvesting teams. Whilst we are advertising for a Forest Manager, we’d encourage more experienced individuals to apply if they are keen to work for one of the UK’s leading forestry companies.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable forestry experience and relevant academic qualifications (training available).
  • Good working knowledge of the UK forest industry.
  • Demonstrable understanding of site planning, working with contractors and site safety management.
  • Interest or experience in alternative silvicultural systems welcomed.
  • Commercially aware with a sound knowledge and understanding of the rural sector.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills.
  • Ability to identify, analyse and solve problems working off own initiative as part of a wider team.
  • Ability to undertake most aspects of the roles and responsibilities of a Forestry Works Manager is important.
