JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is currently recruiting for a Contracts and Procurement Analyst. Based in Aberdeen, the role will be on a long-term contract and offers hybrid working.

ROLE

The post holder is responsible for preparation, negotiation, award and monitoring the administration of contracts for works/goods/services in such a manner as to ensure the Company’s best commercial interests are both served and protected, monitoring relevant markets and supporting contractor performance management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The role will involve providing Contracts & Procurement support to both Onshore UK Renewable Projects as well as supporting a portfolio of central services contracts affecting multiple UK affiliates (e.g. HR benefits, occupational health services etc).

For Onshore Renewables Project support, support the Onshore Contracts & Procurement Manager in providing a comprehensive procurement service in support of Onshore project development activities:

The focus will be on contracts for the projects to facilitate the development of renewable projects and progression towards Financial Investment Decision. This will include contracts such as planning, permitting & studies, EPC/ICP and surveys. Once awarded there will be a requirement to support any procurement activities through the construction phase from commencement to completion

  • Assist in the identification and selection of suppliers to be invited to submit responses to Call for Tenders (CFT), Request for Information (RFI) & Expressions of Interest (EOI)
  • Negotiation and award of contracts for goods and services in consultation with the wider project team and HQ in accordance with best-value and approved procedures. Preparation and issuing of CFT, RFI, EOI & Non-Disclosure Agreements
  • Assist in the evaluation of commercial element of bids and co-ordinating inputs from the wider evaluation team (technical, legal, HSE)
  • Negotiate terms & conditions with preferred suppliers
  • Support with preparation of contracting strategies and Recommendation to Awards (RTAs)
  • Develop and maintain the Onshore Projects’ Procurement Plan, identifying all upcoming procurement support requirements
  • Maintain Onshore Projects' Contract Registers

FOR CENTRAL SERVICES, ASSUME C&P RESPONSIBILITY FOR A PORTFOLIO OF CONTRACTS AFFECTING MULTIPLE UK AFFILIATES INCLUDING:

  • Seeking internal approval and managing Variation Orders for changes to scopes of work
  • Seeking internal approval, from all concerned UK affiliates, for contract renewals/extensions
  • Providing ad hoc C&P services for central services, including those affecting all UK affiliates (e.g. HR benefits)
  • Drafting and responding to contractual communications to be issued to contractors
  • Maintain contractual registers
  • Establish a SQM (Supplier Quality Management) process for the affiliate.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of and a proven track record in managing procurement activities from identification of requirements through to contract award. Preferably with knowledge and experience in the renewables market but this is not essential
  • Ability to build effective relationships and be a team player at all levels both within the team and with suppliers
  • Proven ability to communicate at all levels both written and verbally
  • A strong results focus supported by relevant commercial skills and knowledge required to deliver value to the company
  • A proven ability to conduct successful commercial negotiations with suppliers
  • Knowledge of relevant procurement processes and procedures
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight timescales
  • Attention to detail
  • Commercial acumen including the evaluation of tender submission
  • Negotiation and closing contracts
