JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client, an oil and gas operator is currently recruiting for a Wellsite Drilling Engineer. To start early / mid April and contract duration will be approx. 5-6 months. Working offshore equal rotation on board a jack-up in UKCS. Occasional onshore work may be required

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing drilling engineering input to well abandonment projects.
  • Ensuring the project is planned in full compliance with corporate policies, standards, procedures and guidelines and relevant regulatory requirements and are executed safely and efficiently.
  • Applying appropriate techniques and processes to drive performance through benchmarking and data analysis.
  • Ensuring detailed risk assessments are prepared for planned well decommissioning and risks are managed and mitigated as appropriate.
  • Contributing to the required time and cost estimates and performance tracking for each project phase.
  • The capture and close-out of lessons learnt and analysis of NPT events, and for the preparation and submission of end of well reports.
  • Supports the contractor management process by developing positive relationships with contractors and suppliers. Ensures contractor delivery against KPIs/scorecards.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A strong background in a well engineering/operations role
  • A strong attitude to HSE and associated behaviours.
  • Well-developed communication skills and be capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • Experience of risk management techniques and processes
  • Competent in using COMPASS, WELLPLAN and StressCheck software
  • Candidates must be fully certified by a recognised Well Control Authority e.g. Level 4 IWCF, WELLCAP.
  • Offshore medical, survival and MIST certification
