Job Introduction

We are looking for an exceptional Management Accountant to join and take on a pivotal role in our dynamic Finance Team. You will be reporting to a Finance Manager who is looking to take the Team to the next level whilst you strive for excellence together. This is a role whereby speaking with senior members of staff and Executives within the business is the norm and therefore this really is a job where there is plenty of opportunity for you to make a difference!
You will be working in a small team of conscientious management accountants producing timely, accurate financial management information. You will be embracing new technologies to support your role including Excel and other accounting systems, to ensure that key reconciliation tasks are completed within agreed timescales and to assist with year-end processes and statutory accounts preparation.
Based at our new Head Office in Long Bennington, this is a hybrid role. Successful candidates will be required to have a Standard DBS check prior to commencing employment.
Main Responsibility
Management Reporting
- Produce monthly Management Information Packs for review by the Executive Team within required month end timescales.
- Provide variance analysis and commentary in support of the MI pack, incorporating notes and updates as directed
- Involvement in discussing and interpreting the financial results alongside the Operational Heads of Department, CFO and CEO.
- Responsibility for cash flow forecasting of respective business area.
- Review and analyse information and to provide useful commentary for other departments and stakeholders across the business.
- Provide ad-hoc management reports and business analysis
- Continually adapt and improve management reports as agreed with the Finance Manager
- Address any inaccuracies or differences in the financial data to ensure accuracy and quality.
Accounting and Systems
- Skilled in the understanding of double entry bookkeeping, preparation and posting journals, review P&L and complete balance sheet reconciliations
- Experience of and confident in using Excel to support daily tasks e.g. v look up and pivot tables
- Experience of using Sage 200 would be advantageous but not essential
- Assist with preparation of year end accounts and providing information during the year end audit where required.
Project Management
- Assimilate data into meaningful financial information and support the business to understand the information and interpret it
- Develop and improve report formats in line with business and stakeholder needs (both internal and external)
- Organise workload, priorities and deadlines and deal with conflicting priorities
- Be able to work using own initiative and well as part of a team on projects within and outside of the Finance Department
The Ideal Candidate
You will be proactive and be able to adapt your communication style to meet stakeholder needs with previous finance experience and wanting to continue development to complete your AAT and CIMA/ACCA qualifications.
- Experience in management accounting related finance roles with a desire to grow, learn and develop
- Be willing to undertake further training or development seeking to enhance your knowledge and skills
- Undertake and complete with our financial support AAT, CIMA/ACCA qualifications
- Participate fully in regular management supervisions, 1:1s and personal reviews being proactive in seeking new opportunities to develop.
