Job Description

Are you a Security Engineer looking for an exciting new challenge? [Employer hidden] is looking for a Security Engineer with experience in the Built Environment, looking for an opportunity to pursue industry leading designs within a vibrant multi-disciplinary practice.

Key Duties

  • Design and specification of security systems within buildings - e.g. CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Detection, etc.
  • Co-ordinating engineering delivery for a range of security projects.
  • Preparing Technical Specifications.
  • Assuming project and resource management responsibility where appropriate.
  • Ensuring senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the client are achieved.
  • Inputting into and revising Security project delivery standards and processes as and when required.
  • Actively working towards professional registration with a relevant institution.

Your Skills & Experience

  • You will have been working in a design role with experience of designing security systems in the built environment.
  • You will have an understanding of the design process and approach to designing security systems (CCTV, AACS, IDS, PIDS, SMS), specifically being able to identify critical considerations and factors in design.
  • Worked in Autodesk tools such as AutoCAD, Navisworks and Revit.
  • Experience authoring technical security specifications on projects.
  • You will have a good knowledge of standards applicable to security and related systems.
  • You will be able to clearly communicate concepts of security design and the rational which form the basis of a design.
  • Ideally – a knowledge of basic coding (C#), which can be applied to the development of design tools to facilitate automation.

Qualifications

  • Typically engineers we recruit have studied security or technology related degrees, such as the following (though similar courses will be considered):
  • Electrical Engineering.
  • Electronic Engineering.
  • Systems and Communications Engineering.
