Job Description

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Associate Structural Engineer to take on a key leadership position within a well-established, employee-focused Consultancy in Leeds. With a strong reputation built over several decades, the business has played a significant role in shaping the Yorkshire built environment, delivering high-quality, design-led solutions across a wide range of sectors.

Their Leeds office continues to go from strength to strength, supported by a highly capable and collaborative team of Engineers and Technicians. As part of their ongoing growth, they are seeking an Associate Structural Engineer who can lead from the front, combining technical excellence with strong leadership and commercial awareness to help drive both project delivery and team development.

The successful candidate will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of projects spanning residential, commercial, healthcare, education and mixed-use developments. Schemes range from complex city centre regeneration through to major public sector programmes, offering a technically engaging and varied workload. The role will balance hands-on design oversight with project management, client liaison and team leadership responsibilities.

This is a position suited to someone who is confident operating at a senior level within a Consultancy environment. You will be comfortable leading projects independently, managing programme and financial performance, and ensuring high standards of technical delivery. Alongside this, you will play a key role in mentoring and developing junior engineers, helping to strengthen and grow the team as workload continues to increase.

The business is heavily involved in a number of high-profile regional projects, including large-scale regeneration schemes, education frameworks, healthcare developments and modern methods of construction initiatives. Their work continues to push boundaries in sustainability and innovation, creating an environment where forward-thinking engineering is both encouraged and expected.

Candidates will ideally be Chartered, or close to achieving Chartership, with a strong background in building structures and experience using modern structural analysis and design software. Just as important is the ability to build and maintain client relationships, contribute to business growth and bring a positive, collaborative approach to leadership.

In return, the Consultancy offers a modern and supportive working environment, with a strong emphasis on flexibility, career progression and employee wellbeing. As an employee-focused organisation, they place real value on their people, offering clear pathways for progression and the opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping both the team and the projects they deliver.
