The Role
Looking to play a key role in shaping low carbon, high performance buildings while advancing your career in a forward thinking engineering environment?
A multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking to expand its sustainability and building performance team. This consultancy delivers integrated design and engineering solutions across the built environment, with a strong focus on creating sustainable, high performing and future ready buildings.
Working across sectors such as residential, commercial, education and industrial, the company supports clients in achieving low carbon, energy efficient outcomes aligned with modern environmental standards.
The company is looking to appoint a Building Physics Engineer to support the delivery of environmental and building performance strategies across a diverse project portfolio.
This is an opportunity to work within a sustainability focused engineering environment that fosters a collaborative team culture across multiple disciplines.
The successful candidate will work alongside engineers and designers to develop energy efficient, low carbon solutions, contributing throughout all stages of the project lifecycle from concept design through to construction and completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertaking thermal modelling and building energy analysis
- Carrying out overheating, daylight and ventilation assessments
- Supporting the development of building performance and façade strategies
- Preparing energy and compliance reports (e.g. BRUKL)
- Assisting with sustainability certification processes such as BREEAM, LEED, WELL and Fitwel
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams using BIM and integrated design tools
- Supporting project delivery from early design through to post-construction stages
What they're looking for:
- Degree qualified in Building Physics or a related discipline
- Experience in building performance modelling and sustainable design
- Familiarity with software such as IES (or similar tools)
- Understanding of UK Building Regulations and energy compliance requirements
- Interest in sustainable design and net zero carbon strategies
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
