Job Description

An established and well-regarded multidisciplinary Consultancy is looking to add a Structural Engineer approaching Senior level to its growing Wakefield team. With nearly 50 years of experience delivering civil and structural engineering solutions across the UK, the business has built a strong reputation for producing intelligent, practical and sustainable designs across sectors including residential, commercial, education, healthcare and industrial developments.

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious engineer working toward Chartership who is ready to take on more responsibility while still benefiting from strong mentorship. The team includes experienced Chartered Engineers and has a proven track record of supporting engineers through to IStructE or ICE accreditation, offering a clear and structured pathway to get there.

From a technical perspective, you'll be involved in delivering bespoke structural engineering solutions across a wide range of building structures projects. You'll work with all primary materials including steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry, with a strong focus on producing efficient, buildable and sustainable designs. The Consultancy is known for its value-engineering approach, balancing cost, performance and practicality from early concept through to detailed design.

The role offers exposure across the full project lifecycle, giving you the chance to develop your technical capability while also building confidence in project delivery, coordination and client interaction. As you progress, you'll be encouraged to take ownership of your work, contribute to project decisions and support more junior members of the team.

The culture is genuinely collaborative and people-focused, with a strong emphasis on creativity, positivity and doing things the right way. Engineers are encouraged to take ownership, think innovatively and contribute ideas, while working within a supportive environment that prioritises both professional development and wellbeing.

They are looking for someone with a solid foundation in structural design within a Consultancy environment, who is actively working toward Chartership and keen to continue progressing. A proactive attitude, strong communication skills and a genuine interest in delivering well-considered engineering solutions will be key. In return, you'll be joining a Consultancy that invests in its people, offers a diverse and technically interesting workload, and provides a clear pathway into a Senior role.
