About the Role
[Employer hidden], part of the Diocese of Ely Multi-Academy Trust (DEMAT), is seeking to appoint a Part-Time Early Years (Nursery) SEN Level 2 Teaching Assistant. This is a Fixed Term role until 17 July 2026, working 25 hours per week, 38 weeks per year. The role commences as soon as possible.
This role is to provide targeted SEN support within a Nursery setting, supporting children with a range of additional and complex needs. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the class teacher and SENCo to deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions, support communication and interaction, and promote inclusion.
Experience of working with children with SEND in the Early Years (including speech and language needs, social communication needs, or developmental delay) would be advantageous.
This post is funded through SEN Inclusion Funding (SENIF) and is therefore linked to pupil needs and funding duration.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally:
- Have experience of working with children and/or as a Teaching Assistant
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- Be enthusiastic, ambitious and serious about improving children’s life chances through education
- Be highly organised, conscientious and able to set clear priorities when managing a busy workload
- Be able work cooperatively and communicate clearly with fellow colleagues, parents and pupils
- Have a ‘can-do’ attitude and has the ability to use their initiative
- Be able to work flexibly and professionally
