RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of School

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant and forward thinking school at the heart of the community with a strong team spirit. Paston Ridings is an excellent school which provides a high standard of education and believes that everyone can achieve, learn and grow.

We are looking to employ a teaching assistant to work under the direction of the SENCO and the class team leader to support children in a class set up to support children with additional needs.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work with children to assist the development of their communication, reading and writing skills, manual dexterity skills, basic educational skills and general curriculum activities as directed by the teacher
  • Assisting children to communicate with others and to carry out the teacher’s instructions
  • Develop appropriate resources to support pupils and their identified needs
  • Motivate and encourage children, keeping pupils on task
  • Supporting children with their self-care needs
  • Establishing a supportive relationship with the pupils in the provision
  • Provide feedback to children and relevant staff in relation to their progress
  • Any other duties, related to the role, as directed by the SENCO
