[Employer hidden] is an Apex Hub and Flagship Academy. As an Apex Hub we are able to use an exciting online tutoring program called Tutoring With Lightning (TWL) to support our children in all aspects of Reading.

We are requiring a Learning Assistant, to cover a maternity leave, enabling us to continue to deliver this program to our younger children.

The academy will provide full training on Tutoring With Lightning with support from the academy’s Reading Lead however, an awareness of phonics would be beneficial. If you would like to talk about the program before visiting the academy or applying, then please contact the academy office.

If you have the following skills, then this may be the position for you:

  • Good communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team
  • An awareness of phonics taught to children when they learn to read
  • The ability to liaise with class teachers and other support staff to support the children using this program
  • Someone who can follow instructions and is able to learn new skills and gain new knowledge

You will need to be:

  • Positive and enthusiastic
  • Someone who enjoys working with children
  • Calm with lots of patience
  • Flexible
  • Reliable and hard working
