FULL DESCRIPTION

Special Educational Needs Coordinator [SENDCo]

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking an inspirational and knowledgeable teacher and experienced SENDCo with NASENCO or equivalent qualification/experience to lead SEN provision across the school. The role involves being a key member of the Senior Team, improving standards and wellbeing for pupils with SEND from Early Years to Year 6. While there is no teaching commitment for external candidates, the role requires experience in leading SEND across a school and contributing to the strategic direction of the school. The position is permanent, 0.34 FTE (1 full day and 1 morning), and located in Over, Cambridgeshire.

Job Details

  • Job title: Special Educational Needs Coodinator [SENDCo] and member of Senior Team
  • Salary: M4-6/Post-Threshold [depending on experience] with SENDCo allowance – SEN1 [pro-rata]
  • Hours: 0.34 full-time equivalent [1 full day and 1 morning until 12.30pm – hours/days arranged between school and successful candidate]
  • Contract type: Permanent
  • Reporting to: Deputy Headteacher and Headteacher
  • Responsible for: Teachers and Teaching Assistants

  • Be passionate about SEND and improving standards and wellbeing for pupils with SEND from Early Years to Year 6
  • Be an inspirational teacher, with an excellent track record of improving outcomes for all [note: there is no teaching commitment for external candidates]
  • Enjoy being involved in setting the strategic direction of a school
  • Be friendly, approachable and warm, so that all relationships are strong within and beyond the school community.
  • Be well organised and excellent at record keeping
  • Work well under pressure and be able to prioritise work effectively
