About the Role

We are looking for people committed to supporting children’s access to the curriculum helping them achieve what they are truly capable of. You will be joining a dedicated and effective team of support staff led by our experienced and knowledgeable SENDCo.

The team works closely with children with varying needs, supporting them to access learning in class and providing specific interventions such as Attention Autism, Identiplay and Language Link. We want people who are committed to ensuring that children access the curriculum as much as possible, who can support children to be independent within their learning and who will help children to be integrated into the classroom and the school. We are very clear that, whilst these children need support, they also need time to learn and experience the school as any other child would.

We have a vacancy for either a general class TA to provide support to children who may be struggling to access at an age-appropriate level or a vacancy for a SEND TA working more closely with children with identified SEND running some of the more specific interventions above.

You would be joining a supportive team in a school where we are constantly striving to improve all aspects of our provision. We try to give our staff different opportunities to work with different children, different classes and different teachers balancing this with the need for consistency for some of our SEND children.

Job Details

• Job Title: Teaching Assistant / Teaching Assistant (SEND)
• Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year
• Pay Scale: NJC 2025 Point 3 (£24,796 Annual FTE) Pro-rata to £20,661.74
• Contract: Fixed term until August 2027. The role is reviewed annually in line with funding.
• Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 08:30 – 15:30 (½ hour for lunch)
• To start: ASAP
