Role Summary
We are seeking level 2 teaching assistants to join our [Employer hidden] team at Horizons Education Trust. In this essential role, you will support teaching with pupils who have a wide range of complex needs, including challenging behaviours and autism within our area special school. The successful candidates could be asked to work with any age group in the school.
Responsibilities
- Support teaching with pupils who have a wide range of complex needs.
- Assist pupils with challenging behaviours and autism.
- Work with any age group in the school as required.
- Communicate with parents/carers in home/school communication.
Requirements
- Experience of working with special needs children is desirable, but not essential.
- Qualifications related to the field are desirable, but not essential.
- Understanding and use of ICT systems.
- Ability to write to parents/carers.
- Commitment to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children and young people.

- Salary: Point 5 to 6 £25,586 pro-rata (actual Salary £21,320) to £25,989 pro-rata (actual Salary £21,655)
- Contract: 32.5 hours a week, term time only plus training days
- Location: [Employer hidden], Windsor Road, Huntingdon, Cambs
- Start Date: September 2026
- Benefits: Access to Local Government Pension Scheme [LGPS], induction scheme, additional training, EAP (Medigold)
