Job Overview
The Club is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to support and empower young people. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting personal, social, and educational development, helping young people build confidence, resilience, and positive life skills. This role is ideal for someone passionate about early-intervention youth work and confident in leading a small team.
Key Responsibilities
- Build positive, professional relationships with young people and families
- Ensure that safeguarding, risk management, and incident reporting are followed
- Lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of weekly youth sessions
- Lead pre‑session briefings and post‑session debriefs
- Develop structured activities that build life skills, confidence, and well-being
- Ensure sessions are inclusive, strengths‑based, and responsive to young people’s needs
- Coordinate trips, workshops, and guest facilitators
- Support the planning and delivery of the end-of-programme residential experience
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, and external agencies
- Maintain accurate records and reports of sessions and progress
- Work collaboratively with local partners and community organisations
- Support young people in setting and achieving personal goals
- Supervise youth workers, sessional staff, and volunteers
- Support staff development through coaching and reflective practice
- Contribute to the recruitment and induction of new team members
Essential Criteria
- Youth work qualification or relevant training
- Significant experience working with young people in youth, community, or education settings
- Experience leading sessions or supporting a team
- First Aid training
- Strong communication skills and a calm, professional approach
- Ability to engage young people from diverse backgrounds
- Good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
- Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends
- Full driving licence
Desirable Criteria
- Mental Health training
- Experienced minibus driver
