Job Overview

The Club is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to support and empower young people. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting personal, social, and educational development, helping young people build confidence, resilience, and positive life skills. This role is ideal for someone passionate about early-intervention youth work and confident in leading a small team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build positive, professional relationships with young people and families
  • Ensure that safeguarding, risk management, and incident reporting are followed
  • Lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of weekly youth sessions
  • Lead pre‑session briefings and post‑session debriefs
  • Develop structured activities that build life skills, confidence, and well-being
  • Ensure sessions are inclusive, strengths‑based, and responsive to young people’s needs
  • Coordinate trips, workshops, and guest facilitators
  • Support the planning and delivery of the end-of-programme residential experience
  • Work collaboratively with families, schools, and external agencies
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of sessions and progress
  • Work collaboratively with local partners and community organisations
  • Support young people in setting and achieving personal goals
  • Supervise youth workers, sessional staff, and volunteers
  • Support staff development through coaching and reflective practice
  • Contribute to the recruitment and induction of new team members

Essential Criteria

  • Youth work qualification or relevant training
  • Significant experience working with young people in youth, community, or education settings
  • Experience leading sessions or supporting a team
  • First Aid training
  • Strong communication skills and a calm, professional approach
  • Ability to engage young people from diverse backgrounds
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
  • Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends
  • Full driving licence

Desirable Criteria

  • Mental Health training
  • Experienced minibus driver
