Workshop Machinery Operator
[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a Workshop Machinery Operator to read and understand engineering drawings, carry out quality checks, offload deliveries, use slings and gantry cranes, operate automated band saws, and manage stock rotation. The role requires experience operating workshop machinery, meticulous attention to detail, willingness to adhere to health and safety policies, good communication skills, and maintaining good housekeeping. Previous engineering experience and a forklift license are desirable. The position involves night shifts.
Location: Dungannon, Northern Ireland
Hours: Monday – Thursday: 4:45 pm to 03:15 am
Salary: Top rates paid (DOE)
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Reading & understanding engineering drawings
- Carrying out quality checks
- Reading & interpreting engineering drawings
- Offloading deliveries
- Use of slings & gantry cranes
- Using automated band saws
- Managing the stock rotation of tube / rod
Essential Criteria
- Experience of operating workshop machinery
- Ability to work in a meticulous manner, paying close attention to workmanship
- Willingness to operate in line with company health & safety policy relative to the workshop environment
- Good communication skills both verbal & written
- Operating in a safe & responsible manner at all times
- Maintain good housekeeping & safe working environment
- Willingness to be flexible in accordance with the business needs
- Any other duties, within reason & capability, as determined by team leader
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience in an engineering environment
- Previous experience operating an automated band saw
- Forklift license
Hours of Work
Monday – Thursday: 4:45 pm to 03:15 am
Friday: OFF
