Mechanical Assembler

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reading & accurately interpreting engineering drawings & works orders & following production drawings
  • Assemble parts to form finished products using hand & power tools
  • Perform in-process quality checks & inspection of the final assembled part against company quality standards before moving on to the next stage of the production process (test)
  • Adhering to the engineering testing instructions to test hydraulic cylinders
  • Set up & operate heavy-duty test rigs
  • Detect & report defective cylinders to the supervisor and engage with NC processes
  • Ensure the safe & secure movement of product throughout the factory
  • Operate in an efficient manner, ensuring efficiency targets are consistently achieved
  • Maintain high levels of housekeeping
  • Adhere to all H & S rules in place
  • Engaging with the company MRP system

Essential Criteria

  • 2 year’s experience in a similar role
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read & understand engineering drawings and AutoCAD drawings
  • Experience using various hand tools
  • Problem solving nature
  • Meticulous eye for detail
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills
  • Good level of verbal and written English
  • Previous experience working to quality standards

Desirable Criteria

  • 3 years + experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience in an engineering background is preferred
  • Previous experience within the hydraulics sector is preferred

Hours of Work

Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 16:30
Friday: 07:30 – 13:30 Early finish on Friday
