Job Description
Dwaine Bowman is currently covering the Transport Manager role at Pall-Ex Logistics (Essex), where he is responsible for ensuring transport operations are up-to-date and legal with vehicle inspections, roadworthiness, and driver compliance. He also handles driver route planning and assists with warehouse tasks.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring all areas of transport are kept up-to-date and legal with vehicle inspections, roadworthiness and driver compliance.
- Planning the driver's routes most days.
- Assisting with anything that needs doing in the warehouse, including load outs in the mornings and any other tasks.
Requirements
- Experience in the logistics industry.
- Previous experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver.
- Transport Manager CPC course completion (or working towards it).
- Ability to manage a team of drivers.
About the Role
My role at Pall-Ex Logistics was originally as an HGV Class 1 Driver, but I am currently covering the Transport Manager role, I am also part of the Op-Ex (Operational Excellence) team.
The most difficult challenge I have had to face in my career so far is passing my Transport Manager CPC course and learning how to successfully manage a team of drivers.
