Workspace: Onsite

Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00

Salary: £48,112 + £8,000 Car Allowance

Holiday: 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays

Job Description

[Employer hidden] is currently seeking an experienced and driven Transport Operations Manager to lead operations at Port Clarence, with additional oversight of the Hebburn team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a transport professional with strong leadership skills and specialist compliance knowledge to take ownership of a key regional operation. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient day-to-day transport management, maintaining legal compliance, and delivering exceptional service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage transport operations across Port Clarence and Hebburn
  • Lead, motivate, and develop transport teams to achieve operational targets
  • Ensure full compliance with all transport legislation, including Drivers’ Hours and WTD
  • Manage route planning and operational efficiency to control costs and maximise performance
  • Monitor fleet and driver performance, implementing improvements where required
  • Ensure safe and compliant handling of tanker and hazardous goods operations
  • Investigate incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Maintain high levels of customer service and operational reliability

Requirements

  • Transport Manager CPC (Essential)
  • Proven experience in transport operations management
  • Tanker experience (Essential)
  • DGSA / ADR knowledge or experience (Essential)
  • Strong transport planning experience
  • Excellent knowledge of transport compliance and legislation
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
