Location: Woolwich SE18 6EJ

Salary: £national minimum wage

Employment terms: Full-time

Hours of work: 30 Hours per week

Experience: Minimum 3 years

Job duties

  • Reading Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji
  • Advising members of the congregation on correct pronunciation of Sri Guru GranthSahib ji.
  • To help head priest and other priests perform sacrament of religious events, for themembers of the Sikh community.
  • To assist in playing musical instruments while the head priest performs Kirtan tothe local congregation.
  • Help in organising a coordinating and promoting activities and community basedinitiatives.
  • To report with the Gurdwara administrator and chairperson or other designatedrepresentative of the employer.
  • To ensure cleanliness and hygiene at premises.
  • To adhere to Gurdwara rules, processes, procedures, and policies.
  • To be accountable for a range of activities as may be required by the GurdwaraSahib in a non-pastoral role.

Education, Experience, Skills, and Language

  • A minimum of 3 years previous experience.
  • Must be Sikh baptised
  • The person should be able to assist priests in Gurdwara.
  • Must be fully proficient in Punjabi language (reading, writing and speaking) andmust be able to read Gurbani.
