About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our care team. This role is ideal for someone who wants the opportunity to take on added responsibility while continuing to provide high-quality, person-centred care within the community. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will support service users with their daily needs while also acting as a role model and support to other care staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality personal care and support in line with individual care plans
- Administer or assist with medication in accordance with policies and training
- Support service users with mobility, nutrition, personal hygiene, and daily activities
- Promote dignity, independence, and choice at all times
- Act as a senior point of contact during shifts, offering guidance to Care Assistants
- Monitor and report changes in service users’ physical or emotional wellbeing
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and management as required
- Ensure care is delivered in line with CQC regulatory standards
- Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and infection control procedures
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience in a care/support worker role
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults or elderly individuals
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- A caring, patient, and professional approach
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Right to work in the UK
- Must have good English communication skills
Desirable
- Experience in a senior or lead care role
- Dementia care experience
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
