We are looking for a talented individual who has the skills to plan and teach writing intervention groups for pupils at two of our Trust schools. Working alongside leaders and teachers, this individual will use assessment information to assess gaps in pupils writing and use this to develop focused teaching sessions, based on the needs of pupils within these groups. The successful candidate will need to have a firm understanding of how to develop the technical aspects of children’s writing. Some previous experience of working with pupils with English as an additional language would also be an advantage.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be a strong practitioner who inspires and motivates pupils, parents and colleagues
  • Have the drive and ability to secure excellent rates of progress and attainment for all children no matter their starting point
  • Have an excellent grasp of the primary English curriculum, especially the technical/sentence level objectives
  • Have the flexibility in approaches to work across different settings
  • Have high expectations of themselves and others
  • Have a secure understanding of how to use data to ensure progress
  • Be committed to their own professional development
  • Have strong interpersonal and organisational skills

We can offer you:

  • An opportunity to make a real difference to pupils within our Trust
  • An opportunity to work with the dedicated and motivated teams of colleagues within our schools
  • A culture of successful mentoring, peer support and professional development
  • An opportunity to play a role in shaping this area of provision across our successful Trust
