IPAF Operator: 3a (Scissor) & 3b (Boom) Full day course with classroom theory
This IPAF accredited full-day course provides comprehensive training for operating Mobile Vertical lifts (Scissor Lifts) and Mobile Booms (Cherry Pickers). It covers industry best practices, health and safety regulations, accident control, PPE, machine inspection, and safe operation. Successful delegates receive a PAL Card, valid for 5 years, accessible via the IPAF ePAL app.
Course Components:
- Classroom tutorials covering industry best practices, health and safety regulations, legislation, working at heights, accident control, and PPE.
- Theory assessment paper.
- Practical training providing hands-on experience in operating and performing daily maintenance on machines, selecting the right machine, inspecting MEWPs, and PPE best practices.
- Practical assessment on machine inspection, manoeuvres, and hazard identification.
Required Equipment: Standard PPE (safety boots, hi-vis vest, hard hat). For category 3b training, a harness with a short adjustable lanyard is also required. Delegates must show a 12-month inspection certificate for their own harness/lanyard.
Certification: Successful delegates receive a PAL (Powered Access Licence), a safety guide, a logbook, and a certificate accessible via IPAF ePAL. The PAL Card is valid for 5 years.
