Course Description
This IPAF accredited course instructs an operator on how to prepare and safely operate Mobile Vertical lifts [(Scissor Lifts)](https://www.starplatforms.co.uk/hire/scissor-lift-hire) and Mobile Booms [(Cherry Pickers)](https://www.starplatforms.co.uk/hire/cherry-picker-hire). Successful trainees receive a PAL (Powered Access Licence), a safety guide, a logbook and a certificate which is accessible via [IPAF ePAL](https://www.ipaf.org/en-gb/resource-library/ipafs-free-epal-app) (a digital app that stores and shares your IPAF powered access licences and qualifications). The ePAL Card is issued by IPAF (the International Powered Access Federation) and is valid for 5 years. If you prefer a physical card then please add this to your basket upon checkout (for a small fee)**
*For your safety, this is a Covid-secure course* To avoid classroom time and maintain social distancing our course is a mixture of eLearning and theory test in advance (approx.3 hours to complete), followed by a half-day session at our training centre for practical training and assessment.
PLEASE NOTE: The time and date shown for this course is for the practical session. The eLearning module will be distributed to delegates within 24 hours of booking (during office hours Mon-Fri). Delegates must complete and pass the eLearning theory & test before attending the practical session.

Practical Training & Assessment
Practical training, practice and assessment will take place at our training centre on the date/time shown above.
Delegates should bring the following safety equipment on the day of the practical training:
- a) Standard PPE (safety boots, hi-vis vest, hard hat).
- For category 3b training (boom/cherry picker) a harness with short adjustable lanyard is also required. You may purchase our IPAF approved harness & lanyard kit at a discounted rate when you book training with us. There will be an option to add this when you visit your basket.
- b) PPE to protect against COVID-19 (including gloves, eye protection and face mask). We would also suggest hand sanitiser although this will be provided along with any other PPE which we deem applicable.
PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to share any PPE due to risk of coronavirus transmission.**
