IPAF Operator: 3a (Scissor) & 3b (Boom) Full day course with classroom theory

This IPAF accredited full-day course provides comprehensive training for operators of powered access equipment, specifically Mobile Vertical lifts (Scissor Lifts) and Mobile Booms (Cherry Pickers). It covers classroom tutorials on safety regulations, theory assessment, practical training, and a practical assessment. Successful delegates receive a PAL (Powered Access Licence) and certificate, accessible via the IPAF ePAL app, valid for 5 years.

Course Components:

  • Classroom tutorials: Learn industry best practices and guidelines on health and safety regulations, working at heights, accident control, and PPE.
  • Theory assessment: Complete a paper theory assessment before the practical assessment.
  • Practical training: Gain hands-on experience operating and performing daily maintenance on machines, including safe operation, machine selection, MEWP inspection, and PPE best practices.
  • Practical Assessment: Delegates will be assessed on machine inspection, manoeuvre performance, and hazard identification.

The classroom tutorial, theory test, practical training, and assessment will take place at our training centre on the date/time shown above.

Delegate Requirements:

Delegates should bring standard PPE (safety boots, hi-vis vest, hard hat). For category 3b training (boom/cherry picker), a harness with a short adjustable lanyard is also required. IPAF strongly recommends the use of a harness & short adjustable lanyard when operating boom lifts, and most sites will insist on it. A 25% discount is offered on IPAF approved full harness & lanyard kits when purchased with any training course booking. Delegates bringing their own harness/lanyard must show a 12-month inspection certificate; otherwise, its use will not be permitted.

Our all-inclusive price includes registration with IPAF, your PAL Card and IPAF Certificate via IPAF ePAL.
