Job Description

Leading pizza franchise, Papa John’s UK has appointed Robert Taylor as its new supply chain director. With 20 years’ experience in the Foodservice industry, Taylor’s focus is now to improve the cost of sales without compromising quality which Papa John’s is renowned for through its “BETTER INGREDIENTS. BETTER PIZZA” concept with the aim of creating an even more lucrative financial model for franchisees.

Robert Taylor explains: “Up until now, the Papa John’s team has managed the supply chain as part of a bigger geographical area which included Russia, Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. As the company has grown, it has become necessary to have a dedicated regional resource to maximise opportunities and help franchisees grow their businesses in the UK.

“My remit is wide reaching and I will be looking at all aspects of the store model and corporate organisation to deliver cost savings and efficiencies which can help to strengthen the Papa John’s franchise model & therefore our franchisees bottom line and ROI.

“I am excited to be joining Papa John’s at this time in the company’s development. It is a fantastic opportunity to influence the growth of an international brand to help the company and its franchisees build on what has been achieved so far and facilitate the company’s future expansion.”

Prior to joining Papa John’s, Robert Taylor worked at Pizza Hut, responsible for 70% of the product lines within the supply chain where he delivered significant benefits improving margins and ROI. In the recent past, Taylor set up the logistics systems for Creams Café from scratch to a comprehensive hub and spoke distribution system. This has allowed cost of sales benefits to be achieved while significantly strengthening the business model and delivering a comprehensive improvement in service. All of this was completed while supporting the company’s growth from 29 to over 90 stores during his time there.
