An award-winning, high-growth fintech group headquartered in Cheshire is embarking on its next phase of expansion following a recent business sale. With new investment activity and a series of planned exits on the horizon, the organisation is strengthening its leadership team and seeking an experienced Head of Compliance to take full ownership of its Group-wide compliance function.

This is a truly pivotal role: you’ll lead a small but impactful team and shape the compliance framework across four operating businesses. You’ll be stepping into a position of real influence, playing a central role in preparing the Group for capital raises, investor scrutiny, and future transactions. Your mission will include evolving the compliance strategy, enhancing policies and monitoring frameworks, overseeing regulatory obligations, advising senior leaders, and ensuring the business remains resilient, well-governed, and investor-ready.

This role is perfect for an established Head of Compliance or a high-potential senior compliance professional ready to take their first step into a Head-of-function position — without the burden of SMF accountability, which will sit elsewhere in the business.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in compliance leadership within fintech, consumer credit, payments, lending, or other FCA-regulated environments
  • Deep understanding of FCA requirements, consumer credit and payments regulation, and data protection
  • Experience in managing or developing compliance teams
  • Strong academic background and/or experience at Big 4 or top-tier advisory firms is welcomed
  • Commercially aware, pragmatic, and confident engaging with senior leaders
  • Thrives in fast-moving, scaling environments

What’s on offer:

  • A senior leadership role during an exciting period of growth
  • Direct involvement in investment activity and future business exits
  • The opportunity to build and elevate a compliance function
  • Hybrid working from a fantastic campus location
  • Competitive salary with potential for long-term incentive participation

Applicants must be located in the UK and eligible to work without sponsorship.
