[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Management Accountant for a leading Building Society.
This 12-month fixed-term position for Maternity cover involves reporting to the Finance Manager and you would be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records and financial information. To assist in the preparation of monthly Management Accounts, key performance MI and the Annual Report and Accounts
Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Management Accountant:
- Assist with monthly management accounts, KPIs and Board reports
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and reconcile ledgers
- Support budgetary reporting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Process and reconcile purchase ledger, cash and bank accounts
- Assist with Annual Report & Accounts and regulatory reporting
- Support treasury reporting, systems, controls and process improvements
Required knowledge and experience for the Assistant Management Accountant role:
- Experience in a finance or accounting role from within the Financial Services or Building Society Industry would be highly desirable
- Ideally AAT Qualified or part qualified CIMA or ACCA but would also consider qualified by experience
- Demonstrable experience of Purchase Ledger
- Strong reconciliation and reporting skills
- Good understanding of financial controls and processes
- Strong IT skills, particularly Excel
- Experience of Whistlebrook or Almis would be advantageous but not essential
- The ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workload
- A collaborative approach and high level of integrity
