Our client, a leading player in the Property and Construction Industry, is seeking to recruit a candidate of suitable calibre to assume the position of Finance Director for a c. £1bn operating division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a commercial business partner to the Managing Director, supporting them in all aspects of the management and leadership of a significant operating Division.
  • Lead the finance agenda through a number of regional Finance Directors, operating via a dotted-line structure and working closely with them on a day-to-day basis.
  • Evaluate the performance of the operational Finance Directors in conjunction with the Managing Directors, supporting their professional development.
  • Be responsible for developing the business strategy to include business planning, identification of strategic opportunities to grow the business, reviewing and if appropriate executing inorganic growth opportunities, process, and profit improvement.
  • Implement an effective planning and budgeting process – providing an effective challenge to the region’s strategy and plans.
  • Monitor business performance against clear KPIs, working with the Managing Director to deliver plans that drive performance back to budget and enhance profitable growth.
  • Implement a clear control framework and ongoing detailed review of divisional control compliance.
  • Identify risk, analyse opportunities, and deliver value-adding commercial solutions.
  • Promote and act in accordance with all Group values, systems, policies, and procedures and to ensure strict compliance throughout.

Key Requirements:

  • Fully qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) plus substantial post qualification experience
  • Proven record within a similar role and within the Property and Construction Industry.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to operate as a trusted business partner at senior leadership level.
  • Experience managing and developing finance leaders and teams.
  • Collaborative and engaging across diverse departments and key individuals.
