The Production Team Leader plays a key role in the day-to-day manufacturing and ensuring production is aligned to meet schedules and customer requirements. Leading a shift our Team Leaders are both strategic thinkers and people managers.
Production Team Leader
The hours of work for this role are 6pm – 6am Monday – Wednesday with occasional Thursdays, to average 38 hours per week.
THE ROLE WILL INCLUDE:
- Ensure you and your team understand and comply with Health, Safety and Environmental requirements at all times. Report any near misses, incidents or accidents immediately and promote a safe culture.
- Lead the shift manufacturing teams in ensuring required daily workload is completed on time, in full and to the approved standards. Understand current and future schedules identifying any risks at the earliest opportunity.
- To manage, coach, motivate and engage your team, conduct 121’s and appraisals, whilst supporting engagement activities with ideas and participation.
- Ensure any new members to the team receive a robust induction to the business and department.
- Ensure adequate resources are in place aligned to production needs, monitor performance and manage any issues in line with company policies and procedures.
- Ensuring team members are following SOP’s and approved recipes to ensure we have the best soft drinks and mixers available.
- Ensure daily communication is in place with teams – Communicate production requirements, safety messages, ‘care points’ for the day and any opportunities to build engagement and fun.
- Cover where needed for the Production Manager in their absence. i.e. Meetings, reports and audits.
- Rectify any reported issues on equipment or product with the correct individuals to minimise downtime, quality issues and performance losses – give prioritisation to team members for corrective and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Understand, report and action production performance losses.
- Be willing to learn and share new skills to maximise a multi-skilled team.
- Ensure that good GMP and that high levels of housekeeping standards are maintained.
- Understand and carry out root cause analysis (RCA) sessions following issues to eliminate repetition and demonstrate continuous improvement. Lead improvement activity for your team.
- Ensure performance waste processes are adhered to, monitored and reported. Support any site audits and take ownership, leading your team through production-based improvement activities.
- Operate with high confidentiality at all times, including data protection in line with GDPR procedures.
- Participate in any continuous improvement activities, provide ideas and suggestions where you feel improvements could be considered, whilst being part of delivering any agreed solutions.
- ulfil all attendance and disciplinary procedures for your teams, complete return to work meetings with any absentee immediately upon return and liaise with People Business Partner for any areas of concern.
- Support stock taking activities and comply with stock accuracy procedures. Take ownership of any production-based improvements driving a culture of stock accuracy at all times.
- Ensure your team operates with a multi skilled capability. Forward plan for any potential skills gaps and work with the Production Manager on development plans to eliminate risks.
- Support the development of a technical operator program and ensure that proactive autonomous maintenance activities are embedded within the team.
- Carry out reasonable tasks as requested by your Line Manager in line with department or company objectives.
