About the role

The Social Media Consultant role plays a key part in protecting and promoting the reputation of [Employer hidden] through thoughtful, well governed and engaging social media activity. You will create, review and oversee social content, leading the social content for our Financial Services proposition that supports our brand, business and regulatory responsibilities, while helping others across the organisation use social media confidently and responsibly.

Working as part of a close-knit team of five, you’ll provide expert advice across the full social media lifecycle, including shaping content ideas and advising on channel use. You’ll also take the lead role in the team identifying and managing reputational risk, responding to emerging issues and turning performance insight into practical guidance. You will act as a trusted advisor to a wide range of stakeholders, balancing creativity with control and helping teams deliver high quality, compliant social media activity.

You will have opportunities to influence how social media is used across both central brand channels and the Agency Network, with particular scope to shape future ways of working on our Agency Network Social Media Programme as our social media presence continues to evolve.

About you

You will thrive in this role if you have a strong instinct for protecting and strengthening brand reputation through social media, and genuinely enjoy using data to understand and monitor brand health. You are comfortable balancing creativity with sound judgement, and take pride in ensuring content is responsible, consistent and aligned to wider brand standards as well as engaging audiences. You are confident working with a wide range of stakeholders, comfortable giving clear and evidence‑based advice, and motivated by making social media work safely, effectively and insight‑led within a complex environment.

To join our team, you must also have:

  • Strong experience managing social media activity for large or complex organisations, ideally in a regulated setting
  • The ability to create, review and govern high quality social media content across multiple platforms and formats
  • Demonstrable experience of reputation management, social listening and emerging social media risks
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with strong attention to detail and sound judgement
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
